The Women's Bookshop

There's something about books that gives me a natural high.  I love the smell of books, the older, the better.  Bookshops and book stores are my favorite places to visit.  I normally spend heaps of hours inside the library.  When I'm around them, or when they surround me, I could just feel them talking to me, pulsating with stores and adventures to be made.

Just like this unique bookshop in Ponsonby Road, Auckland - The Women's Bookshop.  This unique shop showcases books and magazines not found in the more popular and commercialized bookstores. I like that it is independently owned and not part of a chain.  There's something romantic and alluring about a Goliath against the David's, the smallest guy versus the corporate giants.

Once you're inside, you get that warm and welcoming feel, generally given when you visit an old friend's house.  The couple of times I've been inside, the staff were quite friendly and helpful.  Although the books are a bit pricey but then that's what you get for having quality and out of the ordinary kind of books.   I do hope that more people will get to discover this bookshop.
